pain it causes. The exact cause of Fibromyaligia is unknown, and
treatment options vary. Patients present with insomnia,
non-restorative sleep and generalized pain. Other common symptoms include:
irritability, nervousness, impaired memory and concentration; headaches,
dizziness, blurring of vision, eye irritation, sensations of heat and
flushing or actual sweating; unexplained anxieties; nasal congestion, post
nasal drip; abnormal tastes, ringing in the ears; restless leg syndrome; gas
and bloating,; symptoms of bladder or vaginal infection; TMJ. Trigger points
are seen in most patients. Patients complain of pain and dysfunction
specific to the affected muscle: neck, back and hips.
Our advice is that educating yourself about
your health and any medical conditions you might have is essential to your
treatment. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice

The newest issue of the medical journal Neuroimmunomodulation
[2008 Feb 1;14(5):272-280] includes the results of a
study conducted by Department of Anesthesiology of Ludwig Maximilians
University, Munich, Germany. The study address immunological changes in
chronic pain patients, specifically complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) and
fibromyalgia (FMS), both of which the researchers describe as "chronic
pain syndromes occurring in highly stressed individuals... "
